Pope County Tribune of Glenwood, Minnesota: "Another Minnesota fishing opener kicks off at midnight this Saturday, May 13, when walleyes and northern pike again become legal game fish in Minnesota.
Whether or not the walleyes will bite is always a question mark, but that rarely stops anglers from wetting a line come fishing opener. Optimism prevails on the opener, and Pope County lakes will attract their share of anglers on Saturday and Sunday for the opening weekend."
