Pro's Perspective: Cold river jigging | Walleye Fishing
Pro's Perspective: Cold river jigging | Walleye Fishing: "Jigging for walleyes in rivers during the cold-weather times of the year can be exciting, though many anglers reading this will just think about cold and discomfort associated with winter months. Don't despair. Fishing from fall through the spring in rivers that remain open can provide some pretty exciting action that should keep you toasty..... as long as the action is accompanied with proper cold-weather gear. Bucket List Walleyes: October/November – Prime Time for Trophies | MidWest Outdoors
Bucket List Walleyes: October/November – Prime Time for Trophies | MidWest Outdoors: "Do you want to catch a lot of walleyes? Right now is the time. Walleyes can be caught using several methods in the fall, so let’s go get ’em.
As water temperatures drop and many inland lakes experience fall turnover, walleyes go on the offensive, simply meaning that most of the walleyes (in many bodies of water) begin to feed aggressively in the middle of the day, in addition to the prime times of twilight and after dark."

Fishing Fall Turnover In Natural Lakes
Fishing Fall Turnover In Natural Lakes: "By the time most folks have their boats tucked in for winter; a majority of Midwestern lakes have still not reached their “cold water turnover period” of the open water fishing season.
Despite that nip in the late fall air, there’s lots of fishing still to be done, in fact for the hearty, catching fish in open water could keep a fisherman occupied all the way to freeze up.

There were several reports of big perch caught this week on the 6- to 8-foot rocks."

Minnesota Fishing Reports Archives October 2015
Minnesota Fishing Reports Archives October 2015: "It was a busy day on the lakes this Saturday, the bait shop was busy and the ramps were full. Anglers who found their way on to the water were treated to warmth, sunshine, lots of fall color and a "Walleye Chop" on steroids.
For me, the breezy conditions weren't a factor; I didn't need to fight the big waves because our goal was to catch Panfish anyway. For that, I was grateful, and I hope that the blustery conditions didn't get the best of you."
